About Dr. Baker

Dr. Scott Baker

Dr. Baker was born and raised in Humphreys County. He is a graduate of Waverly Central High School. Married for more than 20 years to his wife, Dena, they have two school-aged sons named Garrett and Graham. His hobbies include hunting, fishing, boating, golfing and spending time with family. Dr. Baker and his wife are members and actively involved with First Baptist Church in Waverly.

After graduating from Middle Tennessee State University, Dr. Baker received his DDS from the University of Tennessee at Memphis in 1999. This graduating class ranked as the academic number one class in the country. Dr. Baker graduated among the top 10 percent of his group. Returning to Waverly, Dr. Baker purchased the practice from Dr. James “Jimmy” Powers, who had operated out of this location for 50 years. Professional memberships include the American Dental Association (ADA), Academy of General Dentistry (AGD), Dental Organization for Conscious Sedation (DOCS), Advanced Cardiac Life Support Certified (ACLS), the Tennessee Dental Association, Member of the American Academy of Facial Esthetics, and the Nashville Dental Society. He achieved Fellowship status in 2005 with the AGD, which is earned by completion of 500 hours of continuing education and passing a rigorous comprehensive exam.
